Bal Shramik Vidya Yojna By UP Government
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath has launched ‘Bal Shramik Vidya Yojna’ to educate the child labourers in the state. This scheme was launched on the occasion of International Child Labour Prohibition Day.
The goal of this scheme is to stop the children from working as a child labour by providing them financial assistance, so that they focus on studies.
International Child Labour Prohibition Day
The International Labour organisation (ILO) had launched the World Day against the child labour in 2002 in order to bring attention and join efforts to fight against child labours. The International Child Labour Prohibition Day is celebrated on 12th June every year.
Benefits of Bal Shramik Yidya Yojna
- The UP government will give monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 to boys and Rs 1,200 to girls, who are working as child labour in the state.
- If these children pass classes 8, 9 and 10, they will be given an additional amount of Rs 6,000 for clearing each standard.
- A total of 2,000 children from 57 districts of the state will benefit from the first phase of this scheme.
- The families of these children will also get the benefits of the schemes of the central and state governments.
This Scheme will be implemented by the Labour department, Uttar Pradesh. The identification of eligible students will also be done by the Labour department. The department will give the preference to those students with parents with an incurable disease.
